Googlebot - A New App That Allows You to Access Websites and Archives
This app allows you to access websites and archives that are usually hidden behind a paywall. As Googlebot, you can see what is referred to as the grey web, a layer of content only visible to bots. This is the result of a trade-off between the rights of the website owner and the privacy of their user base. Because the website owner is able to keep access to their content private, they can set it to be only visible to bots – resulting in a much more efficient and useful web experience for their users.
